D. Practicing in the UK
To work as a doctor in the UK, graduates must pass the Professional and Linguistic Assessments Board (PLAB) exam, which has two stages:
- PLAB 1 – A theoretical exam assessing medical knowledge.
- PLAB 2 – A practical assessment of clinical skills.
After passing PLAB, doctors must complete Foundation Year 1 (F1) training before receiving full registration with the General Medical Council (GMC).
E. Practicing in Other Countries
- Canada – Requires the Medical Council of Canada Qualifying Examination (MCCQE) and completion of a residency program.
- Australia – Doctors must pass the Australian Medical Council (AMC) Exam and undergo supervised clinical training.
- Germany – Requires B2-level German proficiency, passing the Approbation Exam, and completing practical training.
